2. Destruction of nations: worldliness (49)
– Ammon: trust in evil gods and stolen land (1-6)
– Edom: trust in wisdom, pride, and fortresses (7-22)
– Damascus: trust in reputation and self-confidence (23-27)
– Kedar & Hazor: trust in isolation and wealth (28-33)
– Elam: trust in military power and skill (34-39)
