Daniel 11:2-3, 21 (NKJV) — 2 And now I will tell you the truth: Behold, three more kings will arise in Persia, and the fourth shall be far richer than them all; by his strength, through his riches, he shall stir up all against the realm of Greece. 3 Then a mighty king shall arise, who shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. 21 And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue.

Daniel prayed and God sent him an answer through His messenger angel. God gave Daniel the vision of what was to come for God’s people. Daniel believed it was true and would happen because he believed God. The 100% accuracy of Daniel’s fulfilled prophecies give us confidence that prophecies yet to be fulfilled WILL happen. Verses 2-35 give us a history of battles between the Persian and Greek kings spanning nearly 400 years with God’s people caught in the middle. No matter how bad things got, God showed Daniel that He was in control of everything.

In what ways does God’s revelation of the future through Scripture give you hope and assurance?

With all the chaos and evil in the world, where do you look for strength and what do you rely on?

Daniel 11:36, 45 (NKJV) — 36 “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done. 45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him.

We have seen that all who try to stand against the Lord or His people will be defeated in the end. The Lord and those with Him will be victorious and share in His Kingdom forever. Pastor Weston told us when we receive a message from God, however that may be, an action is needed to follow the message. He said our life in Christ is more important than anything in the world. We know the destruction that awaits those who right now are against the Lord. This should lead us to share His Gospel (good news) with everyone we can before it’s too late.

After asking God to examine your heart, what areas did He reveal to you where you may be placing yourself above Him?

When thinking of your life with the context of the end times, how are your purposes and goals better aligned with the Lord’s?
