Daniel 12:1-2 (NKJV) — 1 “At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Everyone who is found written in the book. 2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Chapter 12 is the conclusion of the book of Daniel. God reveals to Daniel, through His angels, what will happen in the end times. God’s angel Michael watched over God’s people in Daniel’s time. Today we have Jesus Christ as our mediator (1Tim 2:5) and the Holy Spirit within us, watching over us. Through Daniel’s vision we are also shown what is going to happen in the end times. The exact same thing the angels showed Daniel applies to us today.
What is the angel’s message to Daniel telling you about the end times and how does that affect the way you spend your time on this earth?
With the knowledge of what is to come how should you live each day looking ahead to eternity?
Daniel 12:4, 8-10 (NKJV) — 4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” 8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?” 9 And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. 10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
Daniel was told to seal the book until the time of the end when we see many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. That sounds a lot like today. Pastor Weston told us, “The Bible is not only a historical document but it is also the living Word of God” which gives us unique insight. Daniel was told to “go your way” when he asked what shall be the end of these. The angel told Daniel the wise will understand but the wicked will not.
Where did Daniel turn when he wanted clarity and how can you receive clarity when you are confused?
How can you be among the wise and be assured you are found written in the book as mentioned in verse 1?
